Roland Welker Visits Coras Lodge
ALONE Season 7 Champion Finds Bass Bliss at Lake Aguamilpa

When Roland Welker, the legendary winner of The History Channel’s “ALONE” Season 7, heads south to fish, you know it’s going to be an adventure. We were proud to host Roland and his buddies for a high-action trip to Coras Lodge on Lake Aguamilpa, one of the most fish-filled lakes in Mexico.

Known for spending 100 days alone in the Arctic wilderness, Roland has dedicated his life to living close to nature—from the backcountry of Alaska to the bass-rich waters of western Mexico. Whether he’s trapping, hunting, building shelters from stone, or chasing a school of hungry largemouth, his passion for the outdoors runs deep.

“Great time fishing with my buddies down at Coras Lodge, Lake Aguamilpa, Mexico. Get out there and rip some lips.” — Roland Welker

And rip lips they did. Roland and his crew experienced multiple 100+ bass days, with topwater bites in the morning and crankbaits and spinnerbaits keeping rods bent all afternoon. It was the kind of trip that puts grins on faces and soreness in casting arms.

Beyond the fish, what stood out was Roland’s joy in being outside, surrounded by good people, good food, and wild country. Aguamilpa may be a world away from the Arctic tundra, but for someone who lives to be outdoors, it offered that same profound sense of connection—with nature, and with others.
